Youth Report Card

Every two to four years, the Physical Activity Alliance publishes the United States Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth, a comprehensive assessment that evaluates how active American kids are and how well the nation is supporting them. The Youth Report Card assigns letter grades to key indicators and serves as both a call to action and a roadmap for promoting active lifestyles and improving activity levels of children and youth.

The U.S. Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth is published alongside dozens of international report cards as part of the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance Global Matrix. The Global Matrix is an international initiative that brings together report cards on physical activity for children and youth from countries around the world. Each country develops its own report card based on a standardized framework, grading key indicators such as overall activity levels, organized sport participation, active play, active transportation, sedentary behaviors, and community or government support. The Global Matrix compiles and compares these report cards, creating a comprehensive snapshot of global trends in youth physical activity and helping to identify both challenges and best practices across nations.
