The NPAP Business and Industry Sector focuses on physical activity promotion among organizations that provide or manufacture goods and services for consumers, governments, and other businesses. Lack of physical activity is an important underlying health risk for chronic disease related costs and is associated with reduced worker performance. The Business and Industry sector’s strategies range from those at the individual level to the organizational level and focus on programs, policies, and practices and support the development of surveillance and evaluation activities to monitor physical activity in U.S. workers.
